Love and laughter

Before I begin my first ever, brand new Blog I have to declare how much I love swimming – especially in the sea. The power of the waves crashing to the shore is exhilarating!

 When I am in the water I become a veritable mermaid, a dolphin. I dive, I glide, I throw myself into the waves with abandon. I giggle, whoop and yell like an excited child. I just can’t get enough of it.

However, before I meet this moment of ecstasy, I have to actually get into the water! That’s the painful part. I am not one of those people who just throws herself into the icy depths. I edge my body into the water slowly … centimeter by centimeter.

So I stand on the shore, hesitating. I dip my feet in, then move in up to my thighs, bracing myself against the chill. There are certain parts of my body, which are particularly sensitive. I delay submerging them as long as possible! The anticipation of the intensity of the sensation builds as I wade in and out of the waves. Sometimes I rush back to the shore rather than plunging my body to the next level.

I can’t help thinking that my experience with Blogging is exactly the same. I have held back, unsure of what to write, aware of the possibility of public exposure that comes with this kind of global interaction. I am not a technophobe. It’s just the anticipation of the intensity of the sensation builds as I take my first step into this new experience.

There is no doubt in my mind that as I embrace this new wave of communication, I will quickly grow to love the exhilaration, diving in and out of subjects and topics, freely sharing my observations, feelings and desires…plunging to the depths with confidence and joy.
